In remembrance of Jon Steed, our beloved friend, president, and shareholder, we honor a remarkable man whose life was defined by his deep faith, boundless love, and unwavering dedication. Jon Steed, a cherished member of our community, passed away on August 11th, 2024, at the age of 55. Born on December 29th, 1968, in West Palm Beach, Florida, Jon lived a life that deeply touched the hearts of many and left an enduring legacy.
Jon’s faith was the foundation of his life. A devoted member of Oakwood Baptist Church, he was not only a participant but a true servant of the Lord. Leading life groups, contributing to the media team, and steadfastly supporting his congregation were just some of the ways he lived out his profound faith.
In his professional sphere, Jon was the dedicated co-owner and president of Curbs Plus, Inc. Known for setting high standards, his leadership was always accompanied by a nurturing spirit. Jon’s vision extended beyond mere success; he was committed to ensuring that those around him thrived. Colleagues remember him as a leader who genuinely cared about their personal and professional growth.
At home, Jon’s life was a testament to his deep love and commitment to his wife, Jaime. Their 31-year marriage was built on trust, balance, and mutual admiration. Together, they created a welcoming home filled with comfort and beauty. Whether working side by side in the garden or enjoying quiet mornings on the porch, Jon and Jaime found joy in life’s simple pleasures and shared dreams for the future.
Jon’s vibrant spirit and zest for life were infectious. He was the heart of every gathering, always ready with a prank, a spontaneous game, or a daring adventure. His love for the outdoors and his adventurous nature led to countless cherished memories with family and friends. From waterfall jumping and sledding to skydiving, Jon’s enthusiasm was boundless. Weekends often found him camping with close friends, exploring by day, and sharing stories around the campfire by night—stories that grew more legendary with each retelling. That campfire will never be the same without Jon’s infectious energy.
Jon will be deeply missed, but his spirit endures in the countless lives he touched. We find solace in knowing he is at peace, resting in the embrace of God.
Exciting news! Curbs Plus recently had the privilege of sponsoring and attending the Summer Outdoor Concert held at the Northwest Georgia Amphitheater over the weekend.
What makes this event even more special is that all proceeds from ticket sales are being dedicated to remarkable causes. We take great pride in supporting the Building Fund for the future Crossroads Unity Family Park, which aims to create an inclusive playground for all ages with a particular focus on Adults with Disabilities. Additionally, the funds will contribute to Restoring Baseball to the Inner City (RBI) and the preservation of the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Parks.
The concert itself was a spectacular showcase of talent, featuring mesmerizing performances by Ben Chapman, Iron Horse, Neon Moon, and Low Down Revival. The energy and passion displayed by these artists on stage were absolutely electrifying!

In Chisunka, the farm thrives, with maize production expected to surge by approximately 50% this season compared to last year. Additionally, the cultivation of a hectare of soybeans expands the agricultural endeavors, fostering growth and prosperity.
Great strides have been made in the fundraising campaign, with 40% of the $29K target already raised to build the compound and acquire a much-needed truck. We are grateful for the opportunity to support these endeavors, evident through the Compass360 logo proudly displayed on the branded truck. Our collaboration represents a shared commitment to this noble mission!
During the project's initial phase, Curbs Plus recommended investing in a block-making machine with a mixer, optimizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This approach saved approximately $2K and created employment opportunities for local residents involved in block production, making a positive impact on the community.

The Gary Brower Memorial Golf Classic was a remarkable event that took place in Chattanooga. The event was a great opportunity for the community to come together and support a meaningful cause, the ministries of SCORE International.
SCORE International is a global missions organization that was founded in 1984 by Ron Bishop, a former head basketball coach at Tennessee Temple University. The organization started as a sports ministry that focused on short-term mission trips, but it soon expanded to become a powerful force for global missions that has impacted countless lives.
Under Ron Bishop's leadership, SCORE International added career missionaries in domestic and international locations, taking tens of thousands of people on short-term mission trips. Ron Bishop's vision and legacy continue to inspire and impact the lives of people worldwide.
The Gary Brower Memorial Golf Classic was an excellent opportunity for the Chattanooga community to show its support for SCORE International and its mission to share the love of Christ through sports and global missions. The event was a perfect blend of fun and philanthropy, bringing together golf enthusiasts and supporters of the cause for a day of golfing, entertainment, and community.
